Silo provides a private AI chat assistant with a focus on local storage and minimal data collection. Your conversations are saved on your device. To generate AI responses, your prompts (and any attachments you choose to send) are securely transmitted to our AI service provider; we do not store your conversation content on our servers.
Account Information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email to create your account and enforce fair‑use.
Conversations & Content. Conversation content is stored only on your device. To generate a reply, the app sends your prompt—and only the data you include in that prompt—to our AI service provider for inference. We do not store your conversation history on our servers, and there is no cloud sync by default.
Technical & Usage Data. We collect minimal metadata to operate and protect the service: device model/OS version, coarse product‑interaction counts (e.g., number of requests), API usage metrics, and authentication tokens.
Support. If you contact support, we keep your message and contact details only as long as necessary to resolve the issue and improve the service.
- We don’t store your conversation history on our servers.
- We don’t sell, rent, or broker your personal information.
- We don’t use your conversation content to train our own models.
- Transmission. Your prompt is encrypted in transit (TLS) and sent to our AI service provider solely to generate a response.
- Training Controls. We configure providers to disable training on your data where available and select providers that respect this setting.
- Provider Logs. The provider may retain limited request logs (e.g., timestamps, IP or token identifiers, safety/abuse signals) for a limited period to ensure reliability and prevent abuse; see the provider’s privacy documentation for details.
- Our Servers. Our servers handle authentication, routing, and metering; they do not retain your conversation content.

- Service Providers. Authentication (Apple/Google), cloud infrastructure (e.g., hosting), and the AI service provider process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
- Legal. We may disclose limited account or operational data if required by law. We cannot disclose conversation history stored only on your device.
- No Sale. We do not sell your data.
We protect data in transit with TLS and use platform‑provided secure storage (e.g., iOS Keychain) and OS data‑at‑rest protections where available. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
- Account data persists while your account is active.
- Usage and security logs are retained for a limited period necessary for operations and abuse prevention, then deleted or aggregated.
- Support tickets are kept only as long as needed to resolve the case and for quality auditing.
- Delete Account. You can delete your account in‑app; we remove server‑side account data and revoke tokens. Local conversations remain on your device until you delete them.
- Access/Erase. Contact us to access or request deletion of your account data.
- Preferences. Manage privacy and notification settings in the app.
Silo is for users 18+ and is not directed to children.
Servers are located in the United States; by using Silo you consent to processing there.
We may update this policy; we’ll post updates in‑app and revise the Effective Date.
